The "Genussregion Paznaun", roughly translated the "Paznaun as a region of culinary pleasure", stands for regional produce farmed and produced with love and great care. Of course this is reflected in their quality.
And quality has played the main role for Hermann Huber, chef of the brigade the cuisine of the Hotel Almhof, dairyman and main initiatir of the "Genussregion Paznaun", ever since.
Nature, cultural landscapes formed by man and the food grown and farmed there form a unit that makes a region so characteristic. You will get in touch with several examples that prove this statement right, for instance single products such as the alpine cheese or the sophisticated dishes which contain them.
You will taste the Paznaun easily and clearly!

Tourism and agriculture become one in the Paznaun, the quality of the produce grown, farmed and processed here is a result of this connection.
The Huber family is the best example for this: in addition to their hotels, they also run the largest farm of the region. Meat, milk and the award-winning cheese that also impresses juries again and again are produced at their own farm.
The cheese made by Hermann and Patrick Huber is pure gold.
Or rather: all the kinds of cheese they produce do not only taste delicious but have also been awarded gold medals again and again. Since 2007 the cheese they produce at the Faulbrunnalm, an alpine pasture and farm near Galtür, has been tagged as an exemplary product of the "Genussregion Österreich".
Additonally, the two of them have won the gold dairy harp at the International Cheese Olympics in Galtür several times and were awarded the silver medal at International Käsiade Cheese Festival in Hopfgarten, Tyrol, too.
